Turns out having the perfect texture and re-heats very well in the "left over" phase.
What you need
1 pound ground Italian sweet sausage (I empty 2-3 links)
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 8-ounce container sour cream
1 8-ounce package Velveeta-style cheese
1 can Mexican Rotel Tomatoes
Add diced jalapeno if you want more heat.
Instructions
- Brown sausage and drain.
- Heat cream cheese, melting cheese and sour cream in microwave or soup pan until melted.
- Stir in tomatoes and jalapenos (if using).
- Add sausage and mix well.
Can be kept warm in a crock pot and serve with tortilla chips.
