Many recipes out there for this one. Apples, lots of spices and so forth. God bless them, but sometimes I just want a nice cabbage side.
What you need
- 1/2 large red cabbage, sliced 1/4-inch thick
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Sauté the cabbage in the butter, over a medium-low heat. it will wilt in about 5 minutes, then proceed.
- Add the sugar and vinegar, stir until the cabbage is coated, and raise the temperature on medium low (still) until staring to boil. Treat it gently.
- Cover and simmer until the cabbage is completely tender, stirring often, about 30 minutes total.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
