Apricots

Apricots

One small apricot contains about 17 calories. Apricots contain about 3 grams of fiber per serving, making them a good source of natural fiber.

Very similar to plums and peaches, the stone of the apricot should not ever be eaten. It contains a compound, amygdalin, which is converted to cyanide by the body. When ingested, intestinal bacteria and some commonly eaten plant foods contain enzymes that activate the release of cyanide.
